The Advanced Institutes of Convergence Technology was constructed within the Industry and Academic Consortium R&D site located in Iui-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. The floor area of the Institutes is about 18,000 Pyong(59,400m2) and construction finished in March 2008. The budget for its operation is assured for the next 7 years. The Institutes will pursue collaborative research in the application of the latest technologies in IT, BT and NT, with the objective of commercialization. Currently, there are six institutes and areas of research will remain flexible in order to best meet society's demands in cutting edge technology. The six research areas meet the objective and goals of the Advanced Institutes of Convergence Technology. The research programs under each research institute are selected for their originality as well as characteristics that reflect convergence technology.
