Research Areas
- Synthesis and analysis of graphene and 2D materials
- Application of graphene and 2D materials to energy, display, and wearable devices
- Application of graphene and 2D materials to biotechnology
keyword
- Graphene, 2D materials, Synthesis and Analysis, Energy applications, Wearable applications, Bio technology applications
Objective
- By converging the research of wearable devices, functional displays, energy and biomedical application in midst of fundamental science studies of graphene based materials, we aim to actively attract research capitals by discovering novel ideas and build the foundation of world class convergence science research facility
Contents of research
- Synthesis of various 2D nanomaterials such as graphene quantum dots, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, MoS2, and more
- The development of electronics is shifting from technology-oriented to user-oriented devices with varying human interfaces. One of the key materials needed to bring forth such shift in the electronics market is a flexible transparent conductor, which is essential for making solar-cells, light emit diodes (LEDs), organic light emit diodes (OLEDs), Organic photo-voltaic (OPV), touch-screen, smart windows, and LCD displays, etc. The outstanding electrical, mechanical, optical and flexible properties of graphene make it an ideal new material for applications in flexible electronics. Our center’s goal is to develop 2D nano-materials (graphene) based flexible and high-efficient energy devices such as di-sensitized solar cell (DSSC), OPV, OLED, and polymer light emit diode (PLED)
- Developing graphene coated contact lenses to preserve moisture and retain original color of lenses. Also with advanced technology seeking to collect specific data of health condition originating from tears or protein molecules around pupil area
- Introducing novel approaches in detecting and treating neurodegenerative disease by the use of GQDs in biomedical fields. This field of studies is not limited to only neuro diseases but can be further applied in various other protein based regression diseases
Result & Expected effect
- By incorporating various convergence application we seek to innovate national science technology and furnish in national economy by securing multiple patent technology
